Supported by macroeconomic stabilization measures, easing inflation, improved foreign exchange reserves and a more stable exchange rate, the economy demonstrated greater resilience. Nevertheless, the operating environment remained demanding, with high utility costs, taxation, and structural inefficiencies continuing to weigh on the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector. Despite these headwinds, Pakistan’s economy recorded growth of approximately 3.7%, reflecting the resilience of the country’s productive sectors.

The most significant external challenge during the year was the conflict between the United States and Iran, which disrupted global energy markets and created uncertainty across international supply chains. The packaging industry including Cherat Packaging, experienced severe disruptions in supply of polymers and specialty raw materials, requiring companies to maintain greater operational flexibility, strengthen supplier relationships, and carefully manage inventories to ensure uninterrupted service to customers. Despite these challenges, the Company demonstrated commendable resilience by adapting quickly to the evolving geopolitical landscape and recorded a higher profitability compared to last year.

You will be pleased to know that during the year, the Company successfully commissioned its second extrusion plant featuring a state-of-the-art barrier film line, significantly enhancing its capability to manufacture high-performance, value-added packaging solutions for food, pharmaceutical and other applications. This strategic investment strengthens its competitive position, expands its product portfolio and reduces dependence on external sources for specialty films. The Company also commissioned a 2.7 MW solar power system as part of its sustainability agenda and commitment to environmental stewardship. The project will substantially reduce our dependence on grid electricity, lower operating costs, mitigate exposure to energy price volatility and reduce carbon footprint. These investments reflect the Board’s commitment to delivering sustainable growth and enhanced value for all stakeholders.

The Company remains committed to environmental sustainability and community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the fields of education, healthcare, and environmental stewardship In line with global practices. The Company continues to advance its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) journey by reducing carbon emissions, enhancing sustainability reporting, and creating long-term stakeholder value.

The Board of Directors remained actively engaged in strategic oversight, addressing major risk areas, and ensuring robust corporate governance. All Directors, including Independent Directors, contributed to decision-making and the annual self-evaluation process in line with the Code of Corporate Governance.

Looking ahead, the Company is well positioned to capitalize on market opportunities through operational excellence, financial discipline, and strategic investments. The management remains committed to delivering sustainable growth, enhancing shareholders’ value, and navigating future challenges with resilience.

I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all the staff members, customers, suppliers, bankers, shareholders and the Board of Directors for their commitment and hard work.

Akbarali Pesnani

Chairman[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column el_class=”sectionpadding bod”][vc_custom_heading text=”BOARD OF DIRECTORS” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center” el_class=”mainsameheadmaroon”][vc_separator color=”custom” el_width=”10″ el_class=”centerlineshort”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row el_class=”sectionpadding boardcontent-section”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]

Mr. Akbar Ali Pesnani

Chairman

Mr. Akbar Ali Pesnani is an MBA and a fellow member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan.
